Just 20 minute's train ride from Ikebukuro and Shinjuku, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo is the world’s largest indoor Harry Potter theme park - approximately 90,000 square meters. Opened in June, 2023, the theme park is the second theme park based on the film series after one in Britain.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo is dedicated to visitors by immersing in the fantasy world of the blockbuster movie series, such as the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” series. Visitors to Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo can expect to see several sets from the movies, including the Grand Hall, the Hogwarts Express on Platform 9 3/4, Diagon Alley, and an interactive experience where visitors can become part of a moving portrait. Digital guides with an additional fee is available, offering visitors the self-guided experience in Japanese and English.
4. Fuji Q Highland
Located in the Fuji Five Lake region at the foot of Mount Fuji, this amusement park offers a fantastic view of Mt.Fuji in a clear weather while experiencing a few thrills. Best known for its thrilling, record-breaking roller coasters and elaborate, anime- themed rides and attractions, Fuji-Q Highland is a record-breaking amusement park.
Currently, the park has five major roller coasters. Fujiyama was once the world’s tallest roller coaster when it was opened in 1996. As of 2022 it is the world's 4th longest, and 11th tallest roller coaster. Dodonpa is currently the parks speediest coaster and the world record holder for fastest acceleration. As a "4th Dimension roller coasters", the seats of Eejanaika can rotate 360 degrees forward or backward in a controlled spin, making it the most inversions of any roller coaster. Takabisha is the steepest roller coaster in the world. Zokkon is a motorcycle-like coaster with sudden acceleration, sharp turns and backing.
Besides of roller coasters, this theme park also provide several large-scale entertainment attractions based on popular anime series. After a whole day trip to Fuji Q Highland, people can enjoy Fujiyama Onsen next to the resort.
5. Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura
Located in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, Edo Wonderland is dedicated to bringing visitors the culture and atmosphere of the Edo period (1603-1867). The park recreates a small Edo town with actors and actresses playing roles for attractions, restaurants, and services. It has been used as the setting for period tv dramas. The village consists of rows of merchant houses, a samurai mansion, a Ninja village, two wax museums and much more. Edo Wonderland also offers live shows, daily held at various theaters around the town. Performances vary from comic shows and traditional water magic, to live action, including swod battles, magic and martial arts.
